Carbon-neutral operation –
As one of the most sustainable office buildings in Germany, Dockyard is aimed at companies that want to make a statement in this direction. CO2 is already being saved during the construction of the building through the use of sustainable materials. Key aspects are the hybrid timber construction method and the use of “green” steel in places. With an innovative energy concept based on one of Germany’s largest ice storage facilities and the use of renewable energy sources such as geothermal energy, solar energy and ambient air, Dockyard is climate-neutral in operation. This also keeps ancillary costs at a low level in the long term.

Three environmental energy sources supply the Dockyard with green energy:
Geothermal energy, sun and ambient air. The CO₂-free energy is used via heat pumps to heat or cool the building as required. State-of-the-art PVT collectors will generate not only heat, but also the electricity used for the heat pumps. Any additionally required electricity will be procured from renewable sources.
